Arsenal sign French winger Nicolas Pépé from Lille

Arsenal have signed French /Ivorian right winger Nicolas Pépé from LOSC Lille for €72 millions (record signing).

Nicolas Pépé, 24, who came through the SCO Angers youth system, scored 22 goals in 38 appearances for LOSC Lille last season.

Head coach Unai Emery said: “Nicolas is a highly-rated and talented winger who was wanted by many of the top teams in Europe.

“Signing a top-class winger has been one of our key objectives in this transfer window and I’m delighted he’s joining.

“He will add pace, power and creativity, with the aim of bringing more goals to our team.”

The 24 year-old was born in France but plays for Ivory Coast internationally completed the paperwork on his move on Thursday. He will wear the No.19 shirt.

Nicolas Pépé’s arrival will further boost boss Unai Emery’s options, with the gooners launching their Premier League campaign away against Newcastle on Sunday, August 11.
