Arsenal Transfer (Saliba, Ceballos, Tierney)
- Updated: July 19, 2019

According to David Ornstein, BBC Sports Correspondent, We (Arsenal) are set to win race to sign William Saliba. Close to completion after Saint Etienne centre-back opted for us. Loan back to AS Saint-Étienne next season. We are also working on loan for Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos & continue pursuit of Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney.
Could these be the three signings Emery spoke couple of days ago?
William Saliba
The 18-year-old has emerged as one of France’s brightest young talents.
Apparently He is completing a €25m switch to the Emirates however Arsenal will have to wait a while for him to officially join as he is set to spend the 2019-20 season on loan at Saint-Etienne.
“Is it a testament to how highly Arsenal rate Saliba?, Why are we content to play a waiting game for him despite our ongoing defensive issues?,
Who are we bringing now? ”
Saliba racked up 16 appearances in Ligue 1 last season – 13 of which were starts. He averaged more tackles per game than any of his defensive colleagues with two.
As well as being solid defensively, Saliba also displayed good temperament and composure, picking up only one yellow card and completing 85.6% of his passes, highlighting his ability to distribute the ball effectively from defence.
Dani Ceballos
He doesn’t need an introduction 22 year old Spanish professional footballer who plays for Real Madrid and the Spain national team as a central midfielder(he also can play as attacking midfielder).
Ceballos joined Madrid from Betis for €16m in 2017 but has started just 17 times in La Liga and just twice in the Champions League.
Due to Ceballos’ relatively low wages too, Arsenal are happy to pay the full amount while he is away from Real. According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Ceballos earns around £2.7m annually, which equates to just over £50,000-a-week.
Confirmation of his arrival could now come as soon as this week, it is understood.
There will not be a purchase option included in the deal, with Ceballos set to return to Madrid in the summer of 2020.
“My only concern is that He hopes to be a part of Zidane’s plans for the 2020/21 campaign, having learned he would not feature regularly this term. and that’s the reason he preferred a to be loan contract…”
“Lastly his stats are not very impressive however maybe is due the small number of matches played”
STATS IN ‘LA LIGA’ 18/19
23 matches played
2 goals
0 Assist
415 minutes per goals
1,245 minutes played
At Arsenal, however, Ceballos should play often in the Premier League and Europa League, with Aaron Ramsey’s departure for Juventus having limited Emery’s options in the middle.
Kieran Tierney
One of our first transfer rumours this window, Scottish professional footballer who plays for Scottish Premiership side Celtic and the Scotland national team as a left back still a possibility.
My concern is that Tierney is a real top, top defender in terms of the domestic setup in Scotland and he has vastly improved at Celtic. But in England it’s so much harder.
“This may sound like a contradiction but I still believe that If he does come then Arsenal will get an improvement on what they already have by a fair distance in my opinion.“
